Within the Regional Park of Corno alle Scale, this little artificial lake is located at 1415 metres above sea level, where, in the past, the Rio Piano river, its emissary, formed a small swamp. It is a strategic starting point for many itineraries that lead to other small villages and localities of the Bolognese Apennines.
