Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021, for ten centuries the porticoes of Bologna have played a leading role in the city's hospitality and good living.
Originally conceived as privately owned covered spaces and now used by the community, the porticoes are a unique symbol of sociability that perfectly embodies the spirit of the city throughout its history as welcoming beacon for students, visitors and travellers alike.
