Mediateca San Lazzaro is located in an area of the north quadrant, enclosed to the south-east by Via Emilia and Poggi and, to the north-west, by Savena, in the lands of Via Caselle already owned by the Province, near the ITIS "Majorana" and PalaSavena. According to the program agreement between the Region, Province, Municipality and other subjects, approved in 2003, a part of these lands were transferred free of charge to the City to build a Multipurpose Cultural Center (the Mediateca/Library) and a public park. Inaugurated on 31 March 2004, it is covered with "santa fiora" pink stone slabs and looks like a parallelepiped of apparently triangular shape, with the facade 10 meters high and 22 meters wide, looking north, and two sides about 85 meters long, with large glass surfaces and a large roof inclined to green lawn (800 square meters) that coincides, in practice, with the south wall.
