Palazzo Baciocchi or Palazzo di Giustizia was constructed by the illustrious Ruini family and commissioned to the internationally famous architect Andrea Palladio. This attribution is supported by tradition and local contemporary sources, even if the execution was entrusted to local artists without the supervision of the architect.
The interior features the Sala della Corte d’Appello (Room of the Court of Appeal), that was designed in the second decade of the 18th century by Ferdinando Bibiena and the majestic grand staircase.
The building was the site of the Court until a few years ago and now houses the Court of Appeal of Bologna.
