Bologna
Ronzani Palace was built during the first decade of the XXth century by Gualtiero Pontoni as part of some sophisticated buildings raised between the two centuries. These buildings were designed on the basis of a city plan whose main purpose was to value the importance of the Garisendi and the Asinelli Towers as symbols of Bologna. The palace stands on the corner of the Paviglione Portico and consists of a pastiche of different materials and styles: the wrought-iron bus shelter designed by Umberto Costanzini in 1921 is particularly fascinating and valuable. Along the centuries the palace has served several purposes like hosting residential buildings, offices, studios and shops. In 1914 the Modernissimo Theatre was opened and then turned into the Arcobaleno Cinema, that closed many years ago. At present, the ground floor of the palace hosts a refined jewellery, entered in the register of historical shops.
