Cultural Center "Serra madre"

Serra madre is a cultural production center that promotes and nurtures ecological imagination through the dialogue between art and science, aiming to build alternative presents and desirable, accessible futures.

Founded by Kilowatt within the space of Le Serre dei Giardini Margherita in Bologna, serra madre is a place where skills and knowledge are hybridized to offer a transdisciplinary context to citizens, researchers, businesses, and administrations, fostering a systemic and intersectional understanding of the ecological crisis, seen as a crisis of society and culture.

Serra madre embraces all artistic practices, bringing them into dialogue with scientific research and technology, creating a space open to imagination with constant attention to generating a positive impact. To achieve this, it supports and accompanies artistic production and research through residencies, public programs, educational workshops, training, workshops, and exhibitions.
