Apennines< 90 Km from Bologna
The itinerary follows the Apennine ridge along Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany as far as Marche and connects the pilgrimage paths and trails that cross Emilia-Romagna. The itinerary starts in Berceto near Passo della Cisa as far as Monte Carpegna and covers approximately 500 km of climbs and descents offering endless views. It is divided into 27 legs that can also be enjoyed separately and some of which cross the Bologna Apennines, a place filled with environmental, natural and cultural gems. Setting off from Lake Scaffaiolo, we cross the Corno alle Scale and Laghi di Suviana and Brasimone Regional Parks and pass by the Sanctuary of Boccadirio as far as Alpe di Monghidoro to then reach the Romagna hills. The best period to walk along the entire itinerary is between June and November.
