The Bologna per le Arti Association celebrates its 25th anniversary with a monographic exhibition "The Passion of Color: Paolo Manaresi (1908-1991)" curated by Isabella Stancari. The exhibition focuses on the work of the Bolognese artist, with particular attention to his extraordinary mastery in the use of color.
A Journey into the World of a Multifaceted Artist
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to discover the lesser-known side of Paolo Manaresi, that of the painter. While he is renowned for his work as an engraver, documented through a select but significant collection of his etchings, this exhibition highlights his painting, from his academic beginnings to his later works. The exhibition also explores the path that led Manaresi to embrace, in the final years of his life, an informal, non-figurative style with a vibrant use of color, especially through pastels.
The aim of the exhibition is to provide a comprehensive view of the artist, tracing the periods in his career when painting became a space for personal research and experimentation, often parallel to his engraving work.
