Activation of heating systems in the Municipality of Bologna

On account of the temperature anomalies recorded in October, significantly above the seasonal average, and in light of the international framework in terms of energy supply, the Municipality of Bologna - in compliance with the latest ministerial decrees - has postponed the activation of heating systems until 7 November 2022.

The systems may be activated for a maximum of 13 hours per day, between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m.

During the operation of the winter air-conditioning system, the weighted average air temperature shall not exceed:

• 17°C for buildings used for industrial, craft and similar activities;
• 19°C for all other buildings

The ordinance also falls in line with the National Plan to reduce gas consumption, approved by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, with a view to lowering natural gas consumption through the introduction of temperature limits, daily ignition hours and heating period duration.
