Bologna
The Church of the Santissima Annunziata was founded in 1304 by Armenian Basilian monks. In 1475, it was the Minor Observants who completely remodelled the structure. During the 17th century, the interior was modified and the bell tower was erected in 1690. Paintings by G. Lippi and P. Carracci (1619) are preserved in the 16th century portico. In the interior, frescoes in the apse by A. Bigari and D. Zanotti with stucco sculptures of prophets by G. Rossi (1792); paintings by B. Pupini and P. F. Cavazza.
