The Quartz Museum of Lizzano
in Belvedere houses an extensive selection of local rocks and minerals. Such
collection, previously established in Monteacuto delle Alpi, is now displayed
within the exhibition halls of an early twentieth-century villa (Colonia
Ferrarese “Il Martignano”).
The local guide Luigi Riccioni, thanks to
his fervent passion for mineralogy, has been accompanying tourists through the
enchanting meanders of the mineral world for years, in search of the mountains’
hidden treasures, between gems and semiprecious stones, sometimes also
giving “souvenir” stones to his guests.
Crystal healing, of recent renewed
interest, has very ancient origins. The employment of semiprecious stones and
crystals, among nature’s most amazing creations, as a life energy source, is
even mentioned in the Old Testament.
