The Stories Museum of Pieve is divided over two locations. The actual museum is housed in the 14th-century Rocca, the ancient fortress designed by Antonio di Vincenzo, the architect of the San Petronio Basilica in Bologna, while the photography archive "Giovanni Melloni" is located inside Porta Bologna (Bologna Gate).
The Rocca hosts in its eight rooms the commentary of one-thousand years of Pieve di Cento history, from its constitution to present days, through the many changes that involved local landscape, city planning and society. Important historical/artistic items and over 300 video interviews lead the visitor in a multimedia tour among touch-screen stations. The visit also includes the opportunity to record your own interview.
Porta Bologna hosts the Digital Photo Archive "G.Melloni", featuring a collection of 2.000 historical pictures, fully digitalized and easily accessible thanks to an interactive computer station. The Stories Museum of Pieve is the first example of civic museum based on digital storytelling in Emilia-Romagna.
