Bologna
Bottegantica was established in 1986 in Bologna (Italy) and since then its activity has been focused on Italian XIX and early XX century painting. In addition to the experience acquired working on the market at a national level, the Director of the Gallery, Enzo Savoia, has deepened his know-how and skills thanks to its historic archive and library specialized on this period of painting. Beside the normal exhibition activities with a commercial target carried out in its headquarters, Bottegantica cooperates with the planning and accomplishment of important domestic and international public art exhibitions through the loan of works of art or from private art collections, the latter being created with the consultation of the Gallery. In February 2010 Bottegantica opened a new seat in Milan, in Via Manzoni 45, with the aim of realizing a privileged point of reference for north Italy collectors through the organization of specific shows of the most important painters of the period. Bottegantica has always stressed the importance of improving knowledge of the artists of this particular period at a national and international level, therefore during recent years it has been committed to publishing important monographs and annotated bibliographies and to setting up specific historical archives of Italian painters. In order to meet its customers located throughout the entire national territory, Bottegantica takes part in the most important art and antique fairs usually organized in Italy. In addition Enzo Savoia is the accredited technical advisor of the Chambers of Commerce and of the Court of Bologna, Vice President of the “Arts and Antiques Union” within the Board of Trade of Bologna, national councillor of FIMA (Italian Federation of Art dealers), member of the AAI (Italian antique dealers association).
