The Lucio Dalla Foundation and the State Archive of Bologna present "Sometimes a Song is Enough. Lucio Dalla Songs on Display" by the painter, urban, and sound artist Kotè, an artistic and immersive experience that combines music, painting, and technology, dedicated to one of the most iconic singer-songwriters of the city of Bologna.
The artist chooses to interpret eleven songs in eleven large canvases. Each painting is accompanied by a musical track adapted by Kotè himself, enriching the original songs with unprecedented sound effects, creating a strong emotional impact. The audience will experience a multi-sensory journey by listening through headphones or personal earphones, simply by scanning a QR code with their smartphone.
Themes such as love and wars, sung by Dalla with intensity and irony, become relevant and close to the listener thanks to the inclusion, in the songs and on the canvases, of historical, artistic, and cultural references that influenced him, such as Pink Floyd or the birth of Meta.
The exhibition leads visitors on an immersive, intimate, and unexpected journey, where the presence of the artist's inspiration becomes increasingly evocative. The first section displays photographs and materials from Lucio Dalla's home; in the second section, through a captivating audio-visual installation, the voice of the singer-songwriter welcomes visitors and finally introduces them to the darkened space where the "listenable" canvases are arranged, illuminated by colored lights, wrapped in an almost dreamlike atmosphere.
