On the first Sunday of February the 44th edition of the Carnival in Pieve di Cento begins, and the show will continue for 3 consecutive Sundays with the possible further date of Sunday 3rd March in case of bad weather. Several carnival floats, made with the passion and commitment of the various local carnival associations, parade through the streets of the historical centre followed by itinerant performances and the great "gettito" dedicated to children, consisting in the throw of soft and inflatable toys. Also accompanying the parade, there will even be bands, folklore groups, dancers and animators coming from different parts of Italy; a formula that has been handed down for many years and whose origins are distant in time and linked to the figure of Berba-Spein, icon and mask of the Pievese Carnival.
