Amusement parks for the whole family

Updated on 08 August 2024 From Bologna Welcome

Bologna is a city open to everyone, including families with children. Whether you choose to wander through the colourful alleyways chasing the scents of traditional delicacies, count the medieval towers or tuck in under the UNESCO Porticoes in and out of town, there are plenty of activities to do in the city swept away by high spirits.

Let's find out where to spend a whole day or a few hours of fun in Bologna and its surroundings.

Open all year round

Among the parks open all year round we suggest the bizarre Luna Farm. Here the rides revolve, jump and spin, just like your eyes, and you can paint on the walls without being shouted at! A favourite place for children and their parents with an indoor space of 6,500 square metres where 14 attractions, a game area, a food court and a merchandising area can be found.

In San Lazzaro di Savena, a few kilometres from the city centre, the Parco della Resistenza hosts the exhibition "Dinosaurs in Flesh and Bone-The Park". Take a dip into prehistoric times when these huge animals used to rule the Earth and discover how they marked the history of human evolution.
Open by reservation only.

A 30-minute drive from Piazza Maggiore, in the Bolognese lowlands, you will find the Balloon Park at Villanova di Castenaso (BO), a 750 square metre playground with inflatables and rides dedicated to children from 0 to 6 years of age with a fixed admission fee. Here you can spend an afternoon with no time limits climbing, sinking into bouncy balls and interacting with other children.

Seasonal Openings

If you're spending your day in the hills, consider stopping off at the Cavaioni Adventure Park, a perfect destination for enjoying the nature around the city, only 10 minutes from the centre.  With 7 trails for children (from 100 cm) and 9 trails for children/adults, fun is guaranteed.

In Monghidoro, on the other hand, don't miss the thrill of experiencing precious parent-child adventures at Triton's Park, an adventure park plunged into the greenery of Oggioli Mount at an altitude of 1,000 metres. The park offers several practicable routes: five for adults and two for children, with varying degrees of difficulty. Here you can also linger for a picnic and barbecue, surrounded by a pond with newts and plenty of meadows to enjoy.

The rolling hills around are also home to the Capriolandia adventure park (Closed in 2024 due to the landslides caused by the flooding event in 2023) . Children of all ages will love climbing the wooden castle, discovering the vegetation on the trails and learning to recognise the seasonal changes in nature. The bird-flying zip line is the park's prime attraction!
Open by reservation only.

If you're craving to escape the city heat, Villaggio della Salute Più in Monterenzio is just what you need! Here, children will enjoy jumping off the slides while splashing around, surrounded by an incredible view of the rolling green hills that can even cheer up the stress of parents. Fun is for the whole family!
