How to spend your 1st November holiday in Bologna
Updated on 15 October 2024 From Bologna Welcome
The long weekend from 31 October to 3 November 2024 offers the perfect opportunity to visit Bologna and its territory. A host of city events and out-of-town trips, exhibitions, festivals and fairs, places to explore and unmissable guided tours are on the agenda.
It's Urban Trekking weekend, a national hiking and walking day dedicated to rediscovering urban and green spaces. Booking is compulsory and guided tours are often sold out, but there is no harm in trying.
Bologna is perfect when discovered on a bike.
Among the kilometres of UNESCO Porticoes scattered in different areas of the city and the green areas to cross along the dense network of cycle paths, on Sunday 3 November join the bike tour among the UNESCO World Heritage Porticoes to have fun alone, in company or with your family.
And if you prefer to cycle independently, choose to rent a bike at eXtraBO in Piazza del Nettuno 1/ab.
Did you know that Grand Tour Italia has a packed 1st November holidays calendar? This is the perfect season to spend a weekend full of Halloween-related events and other initiatives: monsters, trick-or-treaters, shows, zombie walks or Beer Festival.

Food lovers, autumn flavours enthusiasts, or those who simply rejoice in the colours of nature will definitely go crazy over Tartufesta! This year's festival will be held in Valsamoggia and Sasso Marconi, then in Castiglione dei Pepoli, Monghidoro and Grizzana Morandi.
What is the loveliest view in Bologna? What if it was from the terrace of the Clock Tower? What if there was an audio guide explaining everything about the history and the mechanism behind the clock hands? What if admission to the Collezioni Comunali of Palazzo d'Accursio was included in the ticket?
When in doubt, a visit would be better...
Gender Bender, the festival of mutation of common imaginaries related to gender and sexuality in contemporary arts, is back in its finest dress. On 31 October from 6.30 p.m. at the Cassero LGBTI+ Center, a memorable party will be waiting for you.

Fancy a trip out of town? Then nearby Imola is certainly worth a visit for Baccanale, a festival of gastronomy and beyond with stands and a host of events. This year's theme is "drizzle of oil".
